I have been practicing trademark law and commercial litigation for the past 23 years. I am a former big firm attorney that started my own law firm sixteen years ago. I have had extraordinary success in some very high profile cases and have been featured twice on the front page of the New York Law Journal. One famous case pertained to who had the rights to images of Marilyn Monroe. I represented the family of Marilyn Monroe's personal photographer, Sam Shaw, who took, among many iconic images, the flying skirt in the subway image featured in the Seven Year Itch. In the other high profile case, I successfully defended my client against charges of trademark infringement and convinced the court to declare the plaintiff's trademark to be generic, even though it was a preliminary injunction hearing. That case pertained to what are called "fight sports." I have prevailed in and achieved favorable settlements in numerous cases for companies large and small. I have represented and currently represent both start-up companies and large corporations, where I have successfully handled many hundreds of important trademark issues.
I have also been an adjunct professor of legal writing at the Cardozo School of Law for the past fifteen years. I have guest lectured at Fordham Law School on Intellectual Property Issues, given speechs at the New York State Bar Association (IP Section), and written many articles on intellectual property issues.
I work vey hard for my clients every day, enyoy seeing them succeed, and love my work.

I hired Christopher Serbagi for a litigation concerning a business dispute I had with a former business partner over a vintage fashion items. Christopher is a brilliant attorney and was fantastic during this litigation. He worked diligently and tirelessly on my behalf under what were very stressful...
"I have worked with Christopher Serbagi on various matters since 1995. He is incredibly hardworking, honest, and knowledgeable about trademark law and commercial litigation. Christopher worked with me on numerous trademark matters for many years, which he expertly completed. Chris is a creative lawyer who leaves no stone unturned. He is truly a fantastic attorney."
"I fully endorse Chris Serbagi. I have known and worked with Chris for over 15 years. I have referred clients to him, he has referred clients to me, and I have worked with him, as well. He is intelligent, detail-oriented, goal-driven and congenial. I recommend him without reserve."
"I have known and worked with Christopher for nearly 20 years. We have been colleagues at the same firm and have collaborated since joining separate firms. Christopher is a real IP lawyer, not a dabbler, and he is a very capable litigator, with a keen sense of how to prepare cases for trial and how to position them for settlement. By running his own firm, he has the flexibility to take cases that excite him and to run them on a lean and cost-effective basis. I regularly refer him matters where my firm has a conflict and can't take on the work. I recommend him without reservation."
