Brendan Michael Davey

Brendan is a partner in the firm and his practice focuses on venture capital transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, fund formation and general corporate representation for early stage companies.

Brendan’s venture capital practice consists of providing counsel to technology and tech enabled services companies. Brendan’s M&A and joint venture practices are related to his venture capital work, primarily liquidation events, or companies seeking growth through joint ventures or acquisitions. He regularly represents early stage companies, from formation through exit event and all stages in between, including fundraising, employment matters and the various agreements that emerging companies enter into during growth.

Brendan began his career at Condon & Forsyth, defending international air carriers in mass tort litigation and other accidents.

Represented SJF Ventures III, L.P., a North Carolina-based venture capital fund, in its investment in Think Through Learning Inc. (TTL), in a Series B round of financing. TTL’s flagship product is Think Through Math, an award-winning, SAAS (software as a service) math instructional system.

Represented NewSpring Capital, a family of private equity funds providing growth and expansion capital, in connection with its investment in Open Road Integrated Media, a digital publisher and multimedia content company. NewSpring Capital led the $11.0 million Series C equity financing in Open Road, which also included existing investors Kohlberg Ventures, Azure Capital and Golden Seeds.

Represented SJF Ventures III, L.P., a North Carolina-based venture capital fund, in its investment in Versify Solutions, Inc., a SAAS (software-as-a-service)-based energy asset optimization platform for the utility and power industry. Existing investors including Potomac Energy Fund also participated in the round.

Represented Beauty Booked, Inc., a simple way to search, discover and book appointments with the best salons & spas, in connection with its Series Seed financing. Participants in the round included New York Angels Entrepreneur Catalyst Fund.
