Andrew Craig Karter

Andrew Karter joined Akerman, LLP as an associate in 2018. He has experience representing employers in connection with labor and employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour disputes in federal and state courts, as well as administrative agencies including the NLRB, EEOC, the New York State Division of Human Rights, and the New York City Commission on Human Rights. He has drafted employee handbooks, employer policies, and collective bargaining agreements.

Prior to joining Akerman, Andrew was an associate in the Labor & Employment Group at Putney, Twombly, Hall & Hirson LLP, where he represented employers in labor and employment matters.  He also worked as an associate in the Labor & Employment group at Kauff, McGuire, & Margolis, LLP.   

At Fordham Law School, Andrew was an Editor on the International Law Journal, and was a member of the Dispute Resolution Society, through which he competed in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. He also received the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award for his involvement in Fordham’s Mediation Clinic. Prior to law school, Andrew worked for strategic communications and public affairs firms including Karv Communications, where he represented foreign governments, private equity firms, corporations, and non-profits. Andrew also served as the Deputy Research Director for the Democratic nominee in the 2010 Pennsylvania gubernatorial campaign, and interned for , a non-partisan political fact-checking publication. He graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 2010 with an B.A. in Communication and Public Service.

Andrew is admitted to practice law in the States of New York and New Jersey. He also is admitted in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the District of New Jersey.
