Ryan Patrick Nebel

Ryan P. Nebel is Vice Chair of Olshan's Activist & Equity Investment Practice and is a leading corporate attorney focusing on shareholder activism, proxy contests, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance.

Ryan represents and provides strategic guidance to hedge funds and other investors in matters concerning shareholder activism, with a deep understanding of corporate governance and related matters. Ryan has extensive experience advising shareholder clients regarding Schedule 13D investments in public companies and activist strategies, with an expertise in board engagements, proxy contests, withhold campaigns, consent solicitations, settlement negotiations and hostile takeovers. He frequently advises notable activist investors in high-profile situations such as representing Ryan Cohen at Bed Bath & Beyond and GameStop, Sachem Head at US Foods, Engaged Capital at New Relic and IsZo Capital in its change-of-control victory at Nam Tai Property.

Ryan earned his J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law, where he graduated first in his class and Order of the Coif, and his B.S., magna cum laude, from the University of Louisville. He is admitted to practice in New York.
