Last-Minute Cancellation for a Time-Sensitive Immigration Consultation

I cannot comment on the attorney’s legal abilities because I never had the opportunity to speak with her. However, my experience with the firm’s administrative process was extremely disappointing. I initially contacted the office because my husband and I had a USCIS adjustment of status interview ...scheduled, and our case has some immigration history. Before booking a consultation, I specifically reached out to explain our situation and ask whether it made sense to schedule an appointment with this attorney. The office asked me to provide details about my case and the questions I wanted to discuss. After reviewing that information, I was told that these questions could be discussed during a consultation with the attorney. Based on that confirmation, I booked the appointment and paid the $500 consultation fee plus an additional $20 processing fee. Because I had already secured an appointment and received confirmation that my questions would be addressed, I stopped looking for other attorneys. Anyone who has dealt with immigration matters knows that qualified attorneys are often booked weeks in advance, especially during periods of significant policy changes. Then, on the day of the consultation, only a few hours before the scheduled appointment and just days before our USCIS interview, I received an email stating that the attorney had reviewed our information and would not be able to help us after all. As a result, I was left without legal guidance at a critical moment and without enough time to find another attorney before the interview. While the firm refunded the $500 consultation fee, the additional $20 processing fee was not returned. What I find most concerning is not that the attorney declined the case. Attorneys have every right to decide which matters they take on. The issue is that I specifically requested a preliminary review before booking, provided detailed information about the case, received confirmation that my questions could be discussed during the consultation, and then was turned away at the last possible moment. I also find this particularly disappointing because the attorney frequently emphasizes in public videos and educational content how important it is for immigrants to seek individualized legal advice, especially when new immigration policies or memoranda are issued. I followed that advice. I proactively reached out, disclosed my circumstances in advance, paid for a consultation, and relied on the firm’s confirmation that my case could be discussed. Unfortunately, the consultation never happened. The most frustrating part is that the last-minute cancellation did not simply cost me an appointment. It cost me the opportunity to seek meaningful guidance elsewhere before an important USCIS interview. For anyone considering this firm, I would strongly recommend obtaining written confirmation that the attorney has personally reviewed and accepted your case before relying on a scheduled consultation, particularly if you are facing important immigration deadlines.

I advise you not to waste your time and money on this lawyer

I paid for the services of this lawyer, who said before the paid consultation that there were many options for legalization, but during the paid consultation it turned out that there were none at all. They said that they would take on any case, but they only take on easy cases, so I advise you not to... waste your time and money on this lawyer.
