About me

I was the assistant to the Avalon Professor of the Humanities, Dr. Erich Heller, who was my mentor in College, together with the Dean of Arts and Scientists (While many of my Classes were at the Masters level, I attended and was considered to have done "exemplary" work.I continued this passion of mine at every firm I worked. I got the name “the firm’s teacher”—and, virtually every associate I taught has continued to come back to me to review their work, and perhaps more importantly, to talk over a matter to analyze the issues in a given manner. I was almost universally told by these students and attorneys that they had never learned from anyone as much as from me. Since 2002, when I left Duane Morris, I have managed my own firm at 575 Eighth Avenue, at various times having 2-3 associates and an assistant. I also had a correspondent counsel from France. (He often forwarded cases to me and used my office when he was in New York.)  I am enclosing a CV for your review, but if asked why I want to teach at Pace it would be one word: inspiration. I have taught dozens of new associates, and continue to do so with former associates of mine and, through word of mouth, some others.I have practiced for 30 years, mostly in litigation, Trials, Arbitrations (over 150), and have given lectures on Fraudulent Conveyances (and made new law in Fraudulent Conveyances in New York), Ponzi Schemes, and Collections for CLE Credit.I also handle HIPPA and data breach issues. I obtained my JD at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and was selected for a highly-sought position at the New York County District Attorney’s Office in the Repeat Offenders Bureau.  While at Cardozo I continued by Education at the New School for Social Research. I am a graduate of Northwestern University, with Honors in Modern Continental Literature and Philosophy. I studied one year of Latin and two years of Greek. I also attended Columbia, Harvard, the New School for Social Research, and Universite d’Leval in Montreal.  I have judged Moot Court (at Cardozo, NYU and the NYC Bar Association, back when it was still called the Association of the Bar of New York), for over ten years, and have judged semi-finals in Yale Mock Trials for two years.
