Biography
Joi Garner is a Sports and Entertainment attorney practicing in New York. Her practice focuses primarily on general corporate and transactional matters, including venture financings, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. Ms. Garner advises businesses, athletes, recording artists, personalities and authors on a broad range of matters including, technology, intellectual property, brand management and commercial contracts. She also assists start-up and emerging growth companies in formation and financing; and counsels established businesses on executive employment agreements.
Prior to joining GSB, Ms. Garner was an associate in the New York and Tokyo offices of Morrison & Foerster LLP. She interned at the San Francisco’s Public Defender’s Office and in the Staff Attorney’s Office of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Garner had a long history in the sports and entertainment industry, having worked for Violator Records & Management in the late 90s and later for the National Basketball Association.
