Jessica D. Sparacino

I hired Jessica to do something very simple, an uncontested divorce. We began the process in early September, all documents were signed by me and my ex by mid October. We already had a separation agreement. There was nothing left to be worked out. All she had to do was file the paperwork online. That...'s it. A very small amount of work. Month after month after month I would check in with her and her office and they would tell me that they filed it and that it was stuck in the courts. I called and emailed time after time after time. and her office would say the same thing. Almost 6 months later I discovered there is an online site for reviewing the progress of ones divorce, something she never told me. In fact, her office had discouraged me from checking with the County Clerk's office. But their site said that Jessica Sparacino's office never filed. They had been lying to me for almost half a year. I confronted her office and received a call back from her. She assured me it had been filed. She lied again. All she had to do was check the online form all of these months. But she never did that. Not even once. Finally I confronted her with evidence from the Suffolk County Clerk's office and finally she admitted they never filed it. Her response was pathetic. She said corrective action will be taken, and explained it would be balling out her employees and then checking the status of the filing once per month. It takes one minute to check the status. I could check the status. She had not lifted a finger for almost six months. She couldn't be bothered. And now her corrective action would be spending one minute on me per month? Lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy and incompetent. She is the amateur of all amateurs. For almost 6 months she had lied to me. She spends her time selling real estate and expects to be paid large amounts of money as a lawyer for doing nothing. She makes up for it by blaming all failings on her employees. She is brutally incompetent, brutally lazy, and brutally dishonest. She should lose her license to practice law.

Before I signed/sent payment for her retainer I sent an email asking if my requests were feasible. Her reply was a simple “yes.” According to the Retainer she was to prepare a letter make my changes and mail it.  Very simple. I had to consistently call/email. I was never told her paralegal was getti...ng married and unable to work. Jessica promised a letter two consecutive Fridays which ultimately did not happen. When I finally got in touch a letter was haphazardly drafted and addressed incorrectly. It was clearly stated in my settlement where my ex husband lived. It also did not contain the information that she claimed was feasible. THEN Jessica informed me that her paralegal said I was paid child support after my daughters 21st birthday and that she was working full time. Both absolutely untrue statements. I have no idea where this inaccurate information came from. I quickly severed our relationship and hired a competent attorney. She refused to return my retainer fee even after admitting in writing she dropped the ball. She claims enough work was done to warrant it. She made me pay for her paralegals mistakes and her deceit. PLEASE Be smart and go for a professional!!!!
