Benedict P. Morelli

Mr. Morelli has been a partner at his law firm since 1981 and a senior partner since 1990. In June, 1998, Mr. Morelli dissolved his firm and started Benedict P. Morelli & Associates, which later became Morelli Law Firm.

Mr. Morelli represents clients in various types of personal injury cases, including auto accidents, truck accidents, premises injuries, construction accidents/labor law, as well as complex products liability, employment discrimination, and drug product liability. In each of these areas, Mr. Morelli has received multi-million dollar verdicts. He represents individual plaintiffs against many major corporations, including Wal-Mart, MGM, Live Nation Worldwide, FedEx, and PepsiCo, among many others.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Morelli has tried every kind of case and obtained numerous landmark verdicts. Some of the most notable include a $102 million jury award in a labor law case against Live Nation, comedian Tracy Morgan’s high-profile lawsuit against Wal-Mart in which he served as lead counsel, and a $95 million sexual harassment verdict against a Fortune 500 company - the largest single-plaintiff sexual harassment verdict in the history of the United States.

Mr. Morelli has been featured on national media including The Today Show, Good Morning America, The View, Dateline NBC, Anderson Cooper 360, and Court TV. He was a regular on the legal TV show Power of Attorney and has been profiled in New York Magazine. A past president of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, he has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 1997 and was named one of the National Trial Lawyers’ 50 Most Influential Trial Lawyers in 2016. In addition to his media features and recognitions, Mr. Morelli has also taught and lectured for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, Association of Trial Lawyers of the City of New York, New York State Bar Association, and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.
