I am shocked to read the negative reviews. Seth is probably one of the best Real Estate Attorneys in the city with an incredibly big heart to boot. Because of his thoroughness, he has saved me thousands of dollars. I think some people want things immediately and that's not the case in real estate al...l the time where there are many parties involved. He tends to cater to high end clients because they appreciate his thoroughness and knowledge. Ive never not received a return call form Seth immediately...very odd to hear that. Maybe very needy clients. Seth is the best in NY.

I would agree with an earlier review that while Seth may have the knowledge to handle a residential real estate transaction, he hardly makes the process easy because he disappears. No communication. You're left hanging. That may be OK in other areas of business, but when it involved the largest finan...cial transaction of your life. Normally I would soften a review with "but he's a nice guy." However, it might not apply in this case.

I hired Seth to manage several real estate transactions, including purchase and sales, and he provided sound advice and quality execution, while being a strong advocate. Seth is extremely experienced and knowledgeable, and thus able to address different situations and challenges that may arise, some... of which are complex or unexpected (e.g. delays or issues). He is proactive with follow-ups which helps to facilitate communications and progress, especially with multiple parties, and he consistently demonstrates immense patience and understanding. I have referred Seth to others, who, like me, have been very happy with his advice and service, and I will not hesitate to call upon him again in the future.

While Seth is a specialist in residential real estate transactions in NYC and is well-versed in what it takes to get a transaction from start to closing. However, he is a "one man shop" and as such his responsiveness is poor. He is often "unavailable" when called and the person that answers the phon...e appears to be a shared resouce that rarely knows his whereabouts or is able to reach him (and he is never reachable or responsive before 11AM on work days). While he does have email, his responses are extremely slow, even when timely issues are a hand, or are sometimes altogether ignored. He quotes a flat fee but then tacks on a "supplemental fee" which is many times for work that other NYC real estate lawyers handle routinely during a matter. This "supplemental fee" can be upwards of 30% to 40% of his stated fixed fee. Also there is no disclosure of this to the client...rather, it springs up as a surprise within 24 hours of closing thus putting the client in a lose-lose situation.
