I believe that I am the "Pro Bono Lawyer friend" referred to in the negative post by the "Estate Planning client" two years ago. I strongly disagree with the opinion of the client and I believe that the review by the unhappy client is most unfair and unwarranted. This was a very complicated situati...on with siblings unable to treat each other with any kind of respect or civility. There was ill-will going back years between the siblings, making it very difficult for the lawyers to reach resolution on the most basic issues. There clearly seemed to be unreasonable expectations as to what lawyers might do and charge in a contested will matter that spanned four years. I was involved in this matter the final 6 months or so and I always found Attorney Weiss to be responsive, knowledgeable and completely professional. In the difficult circumstances he encounteres, I thought Attorney Weiss worked hard to find solutions. I found his knowledge of this area of law to be excellent. I would recommend his services to anyone who asked me.

Weiss allowed an uncontested estate matter to drag on for over 4 years, racking up the legal fees. Weiss failed to settle with the other heir's attorney in a timely matter allowing the racking up of the other attorney’s fees too. I had to bring in a pro bono lawyer friend to finish up the mess. ...Weiss’ advice was slow and at times non-existent. I had to call the state to find out when the closing letter would finally come. All told over $90,000 of the estate went to Weiss and the other attorney to settle an estate that was less than $1.5 million - that is nearly 17% of the value of the estate - outrageous
