"I have had several contentious cases as counsel for mothers in Perry’s courtroom. In each instance, I entered the case where the opponent used obstreperous conduct and false allegations to gain a procedural edge. Judge Perry was impressed with these methods presuming them proper and assuming their factual predicates as true, and sided with the malfeasant side. For example, Perry is impressed by violations of orders, so filing a few violations gets his attention. He also watches for orders of protection and arrests. Those gain ground with Perry. Certain players like the organization that serves as lawyers for children have a credibility advantage with Perry. So if a regular woman represented by a regular lawyer appears in his courtroom, the results will be unfavorable and the atmosphere decidedly unpleasant. Outcomes will be painful. Perry practiced law (difficult to find his record) and then became a reverend. He was chairman of Community Board 10 before running for a judgeship."
