Stephen Gordon McCarthy Jr

Stephen G. McCarthy, Esq. has been practicing criminal law in New York for 29 years. He is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center, Criminal Justice Clinic in Washington, DC. Mr. McCarthy was an Assistant District Attorney with the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office from 1985 through 1996. During his time in the DA’s office, Mr. McCarthy successfully tried some of the most significant narcotics and homicides cases in New York City. He left the DA’s office as a Deputy Bureau Chief of one of the most successful felony trial divisions in New York.

For the past 17 years Mr. McCarthy has exclusively practiced Criminal Defense, on both the state and federal level, in the New York metropolitan area. Mr. McCarthy’s practice is based upon the successful resolution of cases through effective negotiation with the prosecutor, with the threat of a very skilled trial defense supporting each negotiation. The ultimate goal of every case Mr. McCarthy handles, is a successful dismissal of the criminal charges.
