PRO
also known as Allan R. Pearlman
After a judicial clerkship at the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, Allan Pearlman went to work for the New York State Supreme Court, first as Court Attorney, then as Senior Court Attorney, in which he researched and wrote proposed decisions for the trial judges of that court.
Now in private practice, Mr. Pearlman represents taxpayers -- people and businesses -- who are being hunted by the IRS (or sometimes New York's tax department, to help them get out of trouble. See his website, for more information.
Mr. Pearlman also collaborates with other lawyers and law firms on an of counsel or local counsel basis to research, write, argue dispositive motions, appeals, and other aspects of pending cases.
Mr. Pearlman also serves as local counsel to attorneys outside New York for out-of-state discovery -- i.e., when they have an uncooperative non-party witness in New York.
He moves for the necessary order from the New York Courts and then issues the necessary New York subpoena to obtain jurisdiction over the witness so that a deposition and/or document production can be facilitate, encouraged, or, if need be, compelled.
See his website, for more information.

Understands situations fast - easy to reach and work with
I used Mr. Pearlman on a thorny multi-state income tax dilemma stretching back many years. He immediately understood the problem I had and had helpful, actionable ideas. I was referred to him by a friend; now I know why the friend thinks so highly of Allan. Very helpful.
"Allan Pearlman is the best tax problem resolution lawyer that I know of in Manhatten and that's saying something! If I had a tax problem and lived in the Greater New York City metro area, I would call Allan in a heartbeat. Highly ethical, very skilled and personable. It's a winning combination."
