Lisa Brauner is an employment law attorney, partner, and head of the Employment Law practice at the law firm of Perlman & Perlman LLP, a law firm empowering our clients to change the world.
Lisa represents and counsels employers in labor and employment law matters and also provides human resources consulting to them. She represents and advises employers in a broad range of employment law matters and provides preventative legal services so employers can minimize their risk of being sued. Lisa also assists employers if they are audited by the Department of Labor and serves as an independent monitor of compliance with federal laws.
Lisa counsels and advises employers in many aspects of the employment relationship, including avoidance of litigation, reductions-in-force, terminations, wage and hour issues, disability and religious accommodation issues, social media, internal investigations, corporate ethics and compliance with federal, state and local laws.
Lisa conducts trainings on preventing unlawful discrimination and harassment and on compliance with all other employment laws.
Lisa also conducts employment law compliance audits for employers, including on issues of worker misclassification (independent contractor vs. employee; exempt vs. nonexempt from overtime pay laws), and counsels on pay/time records.
Lisa prepares and updates personnel policies and employee handbooks, non-compete/non-solicitation agreements and other employment agreements; and
Lisa conducts investigations of internal complaints of discrimination and harassment and other workplace-related matters, and responds to workplace-related charges filed with governmental agencies like the EEOC, NLRB, NYS Division of Human Rights, and New York City Commission on Human Rights.
Lisa has been selected by her peers as a SuperLawyer in Labor and Employment--NY Metro and a Top Female Attorney in Labor and Employment--NY Metro in SuperLawyer magazine.
Lisa earned the distinction of being recognized as one of "40 Up-and-Comers in Employment Law in 2014" by Lawdragon.
