Jared Brett Spiegel

Jared focuses his practice on general business law, including startup representation, corporate matters, commercial litigation, and intellectual property. Jared has successfully represented numerous startup companies, advising them from formation through their fundraising and growth stages. Jared also has extensive experience in the area of trademark law, successfully prosecuting numerous trademark registrations for his clients with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Jared advises on and negotiates a wide range of contracts including: management contracts; employment, independent contractor and consulting agreements; website policies and terms of use; non-disclosure and non-compete agreements; professional services agreements and licensing agreements. Jared also counsels clients on social media issues, Internet privacy and other matters related to the online world.

A creative and practical litigator, Jared has significant experience in resolving his client’s disputes in both state and federal courts, as well as arbitration and mediation proceedings. He applies an aggressive attitude in his representative matters with an eye towards cost-effective, favorable resolutions for his clients.

Jared graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.A. in philosophy. He received his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School with a certificate in intellectual property, media and information law. While in law school, Jared served as a lead clinician in the Brooklyn Law Incubator and Policy Clinic where he advised dozens of technology companies on issues relating to intellectual property, corporate formation, contracts and Internet privacy issues.
