During some particularly trying moments of neg...otiation with my ex-spouse (and co-parent of our children), David was consistently a “better angel” on my shoulder, encouraging firm but fair solutions while gently guiding me away from pursuing any legal options that, had I taken them, I would have looked back upon with regret. And he wasn’t shy about suggesting options that might save me money and heartache in the long run—like attempting mediation / agreement drafting first, etc—whereas some other divorce lawyers might have seen an opportunity to pad their own hours and fees. Anyone that’s been through the gauntlet knows that no one emerges “victorious” from a divorce negotiation. But David easily stood up to (and outclassed) his counterparts exactly when I needed him to. I trust him, and in the years since using his services I’ve recommend him to anyone who finds themselves in the terrible situation of requiring a divorce lawyer.

A TRUSTWORTHY PARTNER. David represented me during a very sensitive divorce between my ex-wife and I. Not only was he highly professional, but deeply knowledgeable on LGBTQIA+ family structures and rights. This was beyond helpful for not only myself but for our family to reach agreements that suppor...ted the best interest for our son. He worked on my behalf for both our initial separation and divorce with such care. It's important for me to recognize that as I know there can be so much fear in this process - especially fear within our community to lose rights. What could have been a very contentious battle was many times instead meditated and solved through patience, his ability to draft agreements with clarity and support and overall guiding us through solutions that helped to separate feelings from facts. I walked into my divorce process with a lot of fear - especially fear of loss of my rights - and David went above and beyond to listen, hear me out and ultimately work with the other party to seek a resolution. I always felt his balance of care and determination to seek results but also educate me along the process.

The first time I spoke with David was when I knew I was getting a divorce but paralyzed on how to get started. David took his time to listen to me and gave me sound, approachable advice. When I finished the call, I was much more at ease and was empowered by his words and expertise. Throughout the ent...ire process, David has been by my side and always listens before he speaks. He takes time to understand me and makes sure he is guiding me to the decision that is right for my situation. I always leave our sessions feeling lighter and at peace knowing I have a trusted partner to help me navigate through a very difficult time. David is compassionate, intelligent and firm, which is a combination I found to be highly helpful through my emotionally charged divorce.

I hired David Elbaum to assist and offer his expertise in a parenting custody matter. He was uninterested, undermining, a bad communicator. DAVID was unable to listen, therefore delivered wrong Information to the other party. He showed no interest in what he was being hired to do ( at one point prefe...rring to discuss how great his girlfriend had decorated his corner office) !!!! . David Elbaum does not possess the bedside manner or the compassion to deal with such sensitive subject matter. I believe I could have done more, and gotten further without his help. I certainly recommend doing more research. I now have a lawyer who has done more to push my issues forward in two week, than David was able to accomplish in over six months he was retained to assist.
