Sumaiya Khalique

We worked with Sumaiya Khalique, at Khalique Law PLLC, from the beginning of 2022 until just recently, when I became a new US Citizen. Sumaiya initially met with my spouse and I to explain what was entailed/required when applying for a green card (and ultimately US Citizenship). We were so impres...sed with her knowledge, professionalism and kind demeanor, we had no thought of not going forward with her on our immigration journey. And we never regretted this decision. Sumaiya and her team guided us, step-by-step, through this intricate process, detailing what was needed from us, for each part of the process, and always getting back to us, if we ever had any questions along the way. If we ever had concerns, Sumaiya would ease our fears by either explaining how long a particular piece of this puzzle usually takes and what might be going on at this point, or look into it further (if it was an irregularity) and get back to us with what she had found. Knowing that Sumaiya and her staff were always in our corner made this process to Citizenship much easier and gave us confidence that we would cross the finish line. We cannot recommend Sumaiya Khalique and her team highly enough! We are SO happy that we chose to work with them … They truly are THE BEST at their profession!!

I had high hopes for my consultation with Khalique Law PLLC, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. We traveled from the Bronx in freezing weather for an in-person meeting on December 4th, paying $250 for an hour. While the lawyer seemed nice initially, the consultation felt more like a ge...neral information session with a few questions asked. The attorney promised to follow up via email with answers to our remaining questions and details about fees. She mentioned being booked until January and suggested an expedited fee for starting in the second week, which we agreed to. However, we never received any follow-up communication. This lack of follow-through is unprofessional and frustrating. Even if she decided not to take on our asylum case, a simple email would have been courteous. The experience left us feeling undervalued as potential clients and questioning the her commitment to client communication.

I found Sumaiya on a google search for the top lawyers on immigration based in NY and indeed she is! She advised me and my wife on our journey to obtain a US spousal visa. She is very friendly, understanding and is always available to answer questions. Even when me and my wife were losing hope in the... process, Sumaiya reached out to other resources to try to escalate the issue and find any answers possible. I know it’s not her fault for the USCIS/NVC processing delays, but she made herself available at anytime to answer any concerns or questions that me and my wife had.
