Sherri Fae Donovan

i came to help with a divorce. Sherri could not care less about me or my divorce just about charging my credit card. She was so unprofessional. she would not go to court and cancel the court dates telling me she wants more money. she never filed a motion for child support, she never file a motion for... my husband paying my lawyer fees, she canceled two days of courts. I had problems also with matrimonial property and etc. Jason Advocate solved all my problems in 6 months and 3 visits to court i got order for my ex to pay lawyer fee, i got my full child custody and child support and matrimonial propeety on my name. Amazing job. Sherri Donovan horrible laywer wasted 8 months of my time doing nothing just asking for money. Could not care less about me or my case or my son or anyhting totally not focused very ADD and not strong and not in charge just waste of time

Ms. Donovan charged me a $5000 retainer which was completely depleted merely filing the divorce action. She wasn't interested in my circumstances whatsoever only my husband's net worth statement ($3Million) After reviewing his statement , she wanted another $20,000 for legal fees. She showed up la...te, unprepared by leaving my file in her office. My husband was trying to force me out of my home by letting it go into foreclosure. She told me there was nothing she could do. I had spoken to my husband which she had advised me not to do. He had agreed without her help whatsoever to let me stay in the home and give me a cash settlement of $250,000, half his pension, 401K, and medical benefits until he retires in 10 yrs. If I had followed Ms. Donovan's advice, I would have walked away from this divorce with nothing but $3500 spousal support. It is obvious she is an experienced and well versed lawyer. However, she was only interested in billable hours in my case. I was a homemaker for the 24 yrs of my marriage. My husband was the monied partner. Whatever cash flows problems Ms. Donovan was having at the time, I wasn't lucrative enough for her needs.

I retained Sherri as my divorce attorney about two years ago. She came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Sherri is the consummate professional. She is smart, experienced and passionate about her work. Specifically, Sherri was extremely involved in every aspect of my rather acrimonious and... complicated divorce. I would recommend Sherri Donovan without hesitation.

I chose Ms. Donovan from a number of lawyers I interviewed because I intended to go to trial. I qualify for a court appointed attorney but with support of friends and family, I scraped together the money to hire someone I felt would better represent me in court in a highly contentious case. When I f...irst met with her, for a paid consultation, she assured me I had a case and that she would be happy to represent me at trial. I paid my fee upfront. Long story short, several months later on the day of trial when I arrived at the courthouse, Ms. Donovan informed me that she highly recommended a settlement. I had 15 minutes to make up my mind on a life-changing decision. I took her advice. In retrospect, I should not have and especially without having time to consider all the consequences of such a decision. Furthermore, the foundation of her argument for why I should not go to trial was faulty in that she did not know the facts nor did she ask me. My complaint is that Ms. Donovan should not have taken my money if she was not willing to try the case to begin with. Her client management tactics in leaving me no time, and other tactics I wont even refer to here, were unprofessional, unethical and did not respect the gravity of the decision at hand. Given she knew all the facts upfront and nothing had materially changed, I believe Ms. Donovan grossly negligent in handling my case. I am in the process of pursuing arbitration against Ms. Donovan and I intend to recover fees. But they will not begin to recover the emotional distress and the possible loss of my child that Ms. Donovan has subjected me to. I cannot with any conscience recommend Ms. Donovan as an attorney.

I asked Sherri Donovan to step in after having completed divorce procedings and to assist with a modification that my Ex was balking at. After needing 5 years to settle originally, i was shocked to see how quickly Sherri was able to focus both parties on only the relevant issues, separating us physi...cally when negotiation devolved, and bringing us finally to resolution with only two court visits over four months. Because of her even-handed approach, Sherri made both parties feel attended to, and i credit her with not only helping me lower my monthly child support payments but also with improving the day-to-day dialogue between me and my children's father. Sherri unquestionably represented my best interests, but did so in a manner that allowed my Ex to understand that agreeing to new terms did not mean he was accepting defeat. I would recommend Sherri Donovan without hesitation.
