After our same-sex marriage in Quebec last year, my wife and I were very excited that DOMA was struck down and that she could now obtain residency in the US. We examined the process on our own and found it to be daunting. We had one major concern: my wife had been stopped and turned back at a por...t of entry several years ago. It was extremely important that we find the right attorney! It was our good fortune to locate Shari Moidel. She is licensed in both the US and Quebec. We contacted her at the end of December 2013, and now, five months later, my wife has a Green Card! Shari met with us in a series of painless steps to ensure we had all the required documents submitted accurately and in a timely manner, that my wife would quickly receive a work permit and Social Security card, and that we had sufficient proof of the validity of our relationship. I have worked with Shari for four years. As Chief Executive of a Florida-based signage design and manufacturing company, our relationship with Ms. Moidel began in 2002 to bring in managers, executives and specialized knowledge employe...es from our corporate affiliate in the Middle East.  She had a 100% success rate with 6 different files totaling 12 different applications. The majority were brought in on L-1 visas, followed by permanent resident applications. Ms. Moidel was able to switch tracks entirely and change status from E-2 (investor visa) to R-1 (religious worker) for an individual whose case was different and more complicated than most. Ms. Moidel is responsive, always available quickly by telephone or internet. She does her due diligence before starting a matter, to set a fair fee, always fixed, which is payable as pre-agreed-upon milestones are reached.  She is pleasant to work with and although I recently retired, I continue to give her name out.
