I met Mr. John Buza in very dire circumstances. When I called him the very first time I knew he would not be a typical lawyer. He sounded like a human being rather than an automaton, aka “stone face”, who is trying to first determine if I could “afford him”... but has no genuine interest or engagement in my case-crisis whatsoever…! And believe me I had interacted with lawyers before and so I can make a solid differentiation here. It’s a drag to be dealing with the latter type & hence my appreciation and respect for Mr. Buza is exponentially greater because of that fact alone. He listened, took interest in what I was saying, had a reaction to it, was reassuring but measured in his style. He was willing to take action immediately, he did take it and provided much needed answers shortly thereafter.
Mr. Buza was very present throughout the case and I am using “present” loosely because so much falls under that term. He was available even when I knew that he had no new information for me or when I was contacting him knowing that I am monopolizing his time because nothing had changed or could be changed at that time regarding the case. He made himself available for a trip to Rikers during Christmas time even though he could have very legitimately delayed it. He was patient, genuinely supportive, and genuinely responsive. He was never dismissive or turning “lawyerly formal/official” or busy. I would ask him the same questions or share concerns multiple times and he was willing to explain legal options and prospects about the case in layman’s terms multiple times. I always felt he had our back and that he would always do everything he could to effect positive outcomes regardless of our financial status. He was …normal. That's a rare find.
You need someone you can partner with about the complexities of your case and Mr. Buza is someone you can partner with and depend on not only because he is a lawyer and not only because he understands but more importantly because he cares and appears to have a moral/ethics compass, that’s so lacking in the field, still intact.

John Buza has been working on my criminal case for the past year. During this entire time I have been very impressed by his professional dedication to my case. John has displayed a motivational level and seriousness of approaching and fighting my criminal case which I greatly appreciate. He has demonstrated eagerness to do whatever it takes to win my case. John also possess other qualities which I belive make him a successful lawyer. He is well organized, full of positive energy, and good listener, he always patiently answer to all my questions and concerns regarding my case. He is also systematic and manages his time effectively.
In conclusion, John Buza is an excellent lawyer with a strong passion for the law. He has demonstrated the character and work ethic that lead to success in my criminal case. I do recommend John as I know he can make only positive changes to any criminal case.

Feeling like the odds were stacked against me with an unfortunate situation-I was referred to John from a few respected sources in Manhattan. Within a few hours of our initial phone conversation John had a firm grasp of the details of my case and went right to work. The ability for John to file through his knowledge of criminal law and all it's ins and outs enabled my case to be dropped and most importantly dropped within 4 weeks of hiring him. If you even consider hiring someone else- shame on you, John is a man of honesty, knowledge and most importantly results.
