In 2018, I appeared in front of immigration where my asylum status and work permit were taken. I had a previous lawyer whom gladly took the money but did not do any work to help appeal the decision. From 2018 up to the present time, 6 long years, I was unable to work since I no longer had my work p...ermit. I have had great support and help from friends, family, church members to raise funds to obtain the money needed for application fees, documentation and the previous lawyer. Since then I have been working diligently to obtain all the necessary documentation and complying with all the requests by immigration. Fast Forward to May of 2023, all documents were certified and received by USCIS. After months and months of having a pending status, with zero ability to speak with a representative at their office, I was getting frustrated since there had not been word regarding the status of my case. I met Barbara Brandes unexpectedly and our paths were meant to cross. She heard my story and the length of time it has taken for my case status to still be pending. She immediately got involved and was calling immigration to find out why my case was at a standstill. Come to find out it was all still pending because my medical documentation was not even attached to my case because it was sitting in the mail receiving, an entire year later. Then in two weeks’ time she was able to get my case resolved and now I have my green card!

My immigration journey was an uphill battle due to the 5 different unprofessional law firms I went through which added up to 2 decades of unsuccessful applications! I’ll start with apologizing to Barbara it took me a little time before I wrote this review. I was just processing what happened. I am on seventh heaven. I am not an Illegal alien anymore!! After 29 years living in NY, being married to American citizen, giving birth to 2 American citizens, broth...er and sister American citizens . Thanks to Barbara and her fantastic team, Jossity and Brian, 9/20/23 is for me second best day in my Life. Barbara is pettit, but fierce woman. When she sets her mind on something she doesn’t stop until she does it. I meet her after I went through a few very good lawyers( people who recommended them said that). But this other lawyers didn’t help me , but made wrong by me. They didnt see what Barbara did see. And they weren’t that driven as she was( she still is). They don’t put their heart in it. And that’s why, I had to Look somewhere else. I found Barbara. Highly recommend by another happy client. She is an amazing immigration lawyer. When you talk to her you can see how much she loves her job, and how much pride she takes in every case she closes and set people like you and I on the path to citizenship. Barbara is by far the best lawyer I have ever worked with. I have been in this country for 24 years, married for 21 to an American citizen, and have three children born here and yet I was unable to get a green card.
