Janice S. Edwards

Janice S. Edwards is a conscientious and compassionate legal advocate who regularly counsels clients in a variety of areas including contract, family, matrimonial, bankruptcy and criminal law. Before she began practicing, Ms. Edwards worked on camera in the media and film industries in Canada where shehoned theformidable communication skills that she now uses to benefit clients when representing them in court or negotiating on their behalf.

She is admitted to practice law before the courts of the State of New York and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Ms. Edwards is a member of various committees of the New York County Lawyer’s Association and the New York State Bar Association.

Public service has always been important to Ms. Edwards and her passion for other cultures is deeply rooted. She has been a volunteer attorney for the Uncontested Divorce Program in Kings County and for the Haitian Immigration Legal Assistance Program (HILAP). From 2000-2002, she worked in Beijing, China as a business communications trainer where she conducted seminars for corporations such as IBM and KPMG.

Janice S. Edwards received her undergraduate degree from Concordia University in Montreal (B.A. in Journalism). She received a Masters in TV Drama from Goldsmiths College of the University of London, and her law degree (LL.B with Honors) from the University of Westminster in the UK where she was on the mooting team and the Law Society’s Publicity Officer.
