They should since you are the beneficiary on both. Each should be adjudicated on its own merit.

If you never worked for the original petitioning employer you will have hard time changing employer and keeping the H1B.

You can petition - USCIS form I 130 but you will need a co sponsor for purposes of Affidavit of Support later on.
