Chanda Thapa

Chanda Thapa has over 10 years of experience in Immigration and Nationality Law, Family Law and Property Law. Prior to opening her own firm, Ms. Thapa worked as a senior attorney at Chhetry & Associates P.C. As a legal practitioner, she is known to be compassionate, dedicated and thoroughly well versed in her client's case.

She has successfully represented many clients with diverse backgrounds during her career in different states, like New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Florida, Michigan, Virginia, Maryland, California,Texas, Georgia and Colorado. Her expertise in writing appellate briefs to the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and Court of Appeals in various Circuits has resulted in many reversals of denied cases, including a published decision by the 10th Circuit in Karki v. Holder, 715 F.3d 792 (10th Cir, 2013)

After practicing law for over a decade, Ms. Thapa understands that each client's case is different and requires a unique way of handling. Therefore, she strives to give personalized attention in each case to bring about the best possible outcome.

Ms. Thapa came to United States in 1997. After graduating high school in 1999, she attended Lawrence University and received her Bachelors in Arts (B.A.) in Political Science. Thereafter, she received her Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree from University of Arizona in 2007. During both her college and law school years, she held many leadership positions in student organizations such as Law Women's Association (LWA), International Law Society, Student Bar Association, Lawrence International etc. She also received prestigious internships during law school at Human Rights Watch in New York and World Health Organization's Ombudsman's Office in Geneva, Switzerland.

Ms. Thapa has been admitted to the State Bar of New York since 2008.
