Pomper convicted of insurance fraud, conspiracy 2019

This came as a no surprise to me. He's the worst lawyer I ever hired. Neal Pomper was found guilty of one count of insurance fraud in the third degree, one count of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud in the third degree, and one count of theft by deception in the third degree for fraudulently fili...ng an insurance claim. Look it up on Google. And, he was sanctioned in the past but did not learn his lesson. I wouldn't even hire him as my dog walker.

My mother

My mother died in 2004. By then we had been estranged for almost 40 years, with only brief periods of reconciliation. Attorney Neal M. Pomper, Esq. handled her end of life, and her estate. As far as I could tell that estate was worth at least $400,000. Within a year a little over $200,000 was dist...ributed to my cousins. Where did the rest go? The paperwork Mr. Pomper filed with the courts seemed a little short of fiscal oversight. At least I could not tell where it went. The paperwork Mr. Pomper filed with the courts and the state show that my mother had never been married and never had any children. I accidentally found out about this a few years later when I caught my cousin off guard with an inquiry into my mother's health. My mother died intestate, meaning that in the absence of a will the estate goes to the next-of-kin. Meaning me. I had been in semi regular contact with my cousins over the years. They knew where to find me. They knew my home and my phone number. Yet with Mr Pomper's help they stole the estate. They sold or otherwise disposed of my childhood that my mother held hostage over my head. Mr. Pomper made no attempt to follow the rules in the death of an intestate person. There was NO attempt to make contact with me. He did not even put the legally required newspaper notice in the legal notices section of the newspaper. He represented my cousins in the lawsuit. He would not let the suit proceed unless he was included in the same settlement with my cousins. Interestingly, he had just won a suit in the New Jersey Supreme Court ( Matter of Welch, DRB 11-117) on this very matter. Another attorney had forced himself on his client's settlement. Mr. Pomper successfully argued to the Supreme Court that this is an unethical practice. Yet he did this same thing himself. My subsequent suit with him, and my complaint to the ethics board were disallowed. Apparently it is OK for him to do this, but not the lawyer he sued about it. I can only think that he has some powerful cronies in what laughably passes for the New Jersey justice system. So, if you are morally challenged, don't care about the truth, and only want to win, then Mr. Pomper would probably be a good fit to represent you. But if you have any kind of a conscience you will find a different attorney.

INDIFFERENT and UNRESPONSIVE

N. Pomper, hired for my divorce case. i immediately found him unresponsive and evasive to direct questions and requests, leaving me guessing where i stood, both financially and legally. It became increasingly difficult to work with him and my trust was lost early in the case. i had no choice but to... fire him and i filed a formal complaint.

Very aggressive

I was working with another lawyer in the firm. When my lawyer was away because her child was sick, Mr. Pomper took over. I found him to be aggressive and refused to work with him.

Worst Experience Ever

I hired Attorney Neal Pomper of Highland Park to handle my uncontested divorce case. Following what I considered sub-standard service, I filed a complaint against him. It was found that Mr. Pomper conducted himself inappropriately.

Censured issued in NY, 2009

When an attorney is censured it means he or she did something wrong but may still practice law. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Reciprocal - Discipline issued in NY, 2009

updated on 04/08/2013

This means that the attorney's misconduct in another state, or jurisdiction, also violated the rules for practicing law in New York.

Admonition issued in NJ, 2004

updated on 12/11/2014
