Matthew G. Bonanno is an associate who focuses on personal injury cases, such as bus and truck wrecks, motor vehicle accidents, elevator accidents, medical malpractice, defective products and fall down accidents. He also represents injured employees in workers compensation courts throughout the state. In 2016, Matthew was named a Top 10 Attorney Under 40 by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys. This award acknowledges the hard work and dedication Matthew has in representing his injured clients.
Matthew graduated from SUNY-Albany in 2007 with a B.A. in Psychology and earned his Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law in 2011. While at Villanova, he was a managing editor on the Villanova Environmental Law Journal and a member in the school’s Civil Justice Clinic, where he represented low-income clients in Philadelphia and Delaware counties in a range of civil disputes.
Following law school, Matthew clerked for the Honorable John T. Mullaney, Jr., J.S.C. in the Monmouth County Superior Court. During his clerkship, he was responsible for all legal research and drafting of judicial memoranda and opinions in a variety of civil and criminal matters, ranging from environmental litigation and will contests to drug distribution and murder cases.
Prior to joining Rebenack, Aronow & Mascolo, Matthew was employed at one of the longest standing insurance defense firms in Monmouth County. There, he engaged in personal injury defense for two of the largest insurance companies in New Jersey. He also represented multiple joint insurance funds and self-insured municipalities in workers’ compensation courts throughout the State.
