Steven D. Farsiou

Mr. Farsiou focuses in insurance defense, employment/labor/civil rights litigation, criminal defense, municipal court and general civil litigation.  He currently represents private clients in litigation matters in both the State and Federal court systems. Mr. Farsiou works as defense counsel for New Jersey Manufacturers and has worked as defense counsel for Scottsdale Insurance Company for 12 years, including as recently as June 2014. In addition, he has worked as defense counsel for other insurance carriers, such as Selective Insurance Company, Markel Southwest Underwriters, Western Heritage Insurance Company, Summit Risk, and various Joint Insurance Funds.

One of Mr. Farsiou’s areas of concentration is civil rights disputes with public entities. He has successfully represented many police departments and police officers in excessive force cases brought pursuant to 42 U.S.C. Section 1983 and the New Jersey Civil Rights Act. He also defends professionals in cases alleging malpractice, fraud and RICO claims. In addition, Mr. Farsiou has vast experience in representing construction companies and construction trade companies in construction defect cases.

Mr. Farsiou regularly handles employment disputes regarding the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination and Anti-Bully Rights Act in addition to providing counseling to employers regarding day to day human resource issues. He has also been recently named as a rising star under 40 years old by Super Lawyer for the year 2014.

Mr. Farsiou also regularly defends clients in criminal court and municipal court.
