I am an experienced Attorney with a proven track record representing clients from the public and private sectors in a wide array of transactional and litigation matters with an emphasis on commercial (business) and environmental litigation. I have an extensive understanding of environmental law and policy matters that comes from a lifetime commitment to environmental issues and having represented stakeholders on all sides of the table over the past 20 years, including government, industry, individuals, and community groups.
I started my law career as an attorney with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation where I was Counsel to the Division of Solid and Hazardous Materials. This position, combined with my concentration in environmental law while in law school, provided me with a deep understanding of our environmental laws and policies. While at the NYSDEC I advised a team of 80+ engineers and environmental specialists on hazardous and solid waste management, permitting and enforcement issues and state recycling laws, including the returnable beverage container act.
I then went on to work in private practice in New York and New Jersey where I represented defendants in federal Superfund cleanup, NJ Spill Act, and other illegal discharge and cost recovery actions. I have also represented environmental non-profit organizations and assisted with the drafting an Amicus Curiae brief on behalf of a well-known New York environmental advocacy group. I also recently published a legal white paper on climate change.
In the course of representing clients on environmental matters, my practice naturally expanded over the years into business and employment law matters, including general business disputes/litigation, business sales and acquisitions, contracts, non-compete/NDA agreements, employee hiring and discharges, and small company board advisement. I have also represented individual clients with the purchase and sale of real property with underground storage tanks, represented a homeowners’ association with a dispute with the developer, and negotiated settlements of debt collections. I have first & second chair trial experience in civil litigation and arbitration matters.
While all lawyers will tell you that they will work “zealously” for you (it’s the legal standard), my practice motto is to be “fearless but fair.” I am fearless in my practice and advocacy for my clients and am not afraid to stand up for what is right, but I will be at all times fair, conducting myself in accordance with the civil practice rules and with the highest level of ethics and professionalism. I think that’s so important in today’s world. I hope you do to.

Throughout the process, she took great care to ensure that she had all of the facts, and kept us informed so that we knew where the case...

"Jen is a great lawyer to work with and for. She is very responsive to clients and efficient to work with. Jen is very knowledgeable of the law, current events, and how both interact and affect each other. She always has the right answer to an inquiry or at least knows where to find said correct answer. As a young lawyer myself, she has mentored me in numerous matters and helped me through the initial struggles of maneuvering the legal profession."
