Do not use this attorney

The worst attorney I have had so far. Does not care about the client. I needed someone reliable, and someone who works fast, because of the situation. This attorney is milking hours, doesn't respond within acceptable period of time. I always had to try to reach him multiple times in order to get any ...updates. He doesn't check his phone messages every day and does't have a direct line, only office (but he is never in the office). Most of the time he was either in court or on vacation. Has been holding my retainer deposit for a few month now after I didn't need his services anymore. The excuses are: not enough staff to process it, holidays and only holiday help is working, there is no one in the office to sign the check. So far, the only advice I was given is to "take more to prepare my emails in the future as they are difficult to understand". I am a person who'd rather talk on the phone, but I wasn't given that option even after I asked. Take your money somewhere else.

Mr. Brown, I am sorry you are dissatisfied with your attorney, but I was not your attorney. I believe you may have retained another attorney named Evan Goldman, of which there are many (including at least one in New Jersey). To be certain, I have never been retained by an individual named "James Brown," nor do the facts listed in your review comport with any behavior I may have exhibited. Further, I only joined my current firm on January 18, 2016 (i.e., 2 days before your post), meaning I could not have been "in court or on vacation" for any of the time you listed in your post. I'd ask that you remove your post and re-post is to the correct Evan Goldman's profile. And please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. Regards, Evan M. Goldman

Diligent Organized and Brilliant

A notable aspect of working with Mr Goldman was that he responded every question we had through the years of our case and kept us very well informed. He is quick thinking a very nice person. He represented us well was always attentive to us and our case and he won.

Very knowlegeable attorney

I hired Evan to represent me as a franchisee in a lawsuit involving a franchisor. Evan worked very hard, knew the specific issues about my case and gave me excellent advice.

Very good lawyer and person

We hired Evan to help us in a Master Franchise suit we filed. He worked hard to fully understand the case and history behind the Franchisor. We won the "Final" Arbitration, they appealed to the courts, we won the case, they appealed toa higher court and we won that case. Evan is very personable and ...professional and kept us informed of every move. We would hire him again in an instant. We just hope we don't have to.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
