Barbara Ulrichsen

I have been continuously practicing family law since 1975. I am certified as a Matrimonial Lawyer by the New Jersey Supreme Court. I have had extensive experience litigating complex matrimonial matters, including contested custody and relocation cases and alimony and child support cases. I have also litigated numerous complicated equitable distribution cases, including those involving hidden income and contested business and real estate valuation issues. I am very cognizant of applicable tax law to family law matters. I have also been successfully inolved in cases at the Appellate and Supreme Court level.

It is my goal to help my clients reach an amicable resolution of their cases. My deep litigation experience helps me provide guidance to them with respect to reasonable resolutions of their matters. Approximately 95% of my cases are resolved by comprehensive marital settlement agreements which are reached either prior to the initiation of a case or while it is pending. I am supportive of mediation and have served as a mediator in a number of cases. I also assist clients going through the mediation process. I have a particular strength in financial analysis and can assist my clients in determining the impact that a financial settlement will have upon their future security. I have a good working relationship with my colleagues and am respected by them which aids my clients in resolving their cases.

I take a "hands on" approach to representing my clients and often personally prepare the pleadings, motions, briefs and agreements needed to appropriately represent them.
