I have been practicing real estate law for over 25 years. I am licensed in both New York and New Jersey.
Being a solo practioner has allowed me to deliver personal service to my clients. I have handled very simple closings and very complex commericail transactions, and pride myself on great customer service no matter what the monetary value of the transaction may be.
I don't advertise and have built my practice on referrals from satisfied clients and realtor relationships.
I realize that buying and/or selling a home (or both) is a very stressful transaction and my goal is to make it as stress free as possible for you.

No Attention Given. Just Processes Transaction
Our experience with Michelle Katz was well below expectations (and we didn't expect much). Multiple requests from our side were overlooked. She didn't get our property survey tied to our title insurance. We asked for power-of-attorney for my wife weeks before the close (who was scheduled to give birt...
I was very surprised to see this. Your file was definitely handled with a lot of personal attention throughout the entire process, including extensive negotiations during the inspection phase to secure a credit for repairs. With regards to the survey, it is not common practice for a survey to be ordered on every file and although we did order it from the title company for your file, we did overlook the fact that it did not come in and I apologize for that. It has been extremely challenging with reduced staff and remote working due to Covid and we should have followed up with the title company and that did fall through the cracks. You were not charged for the survey and as soon as it was brought to our attention that you did still want it, we immediately contacted the title company and asked them to contact the surveyor to provide it as soon as possible. The Power of Attorney was prepared as quickly as we could and it had to go through a process of being reviewed and approved by both your lender and the title company and that did take some time. We were very cognizant of the fact that your wife was giving birth but there was no other way to get this processed and there is no way around having to get it notarized. We did not realize how inconvenient it was for her to secure the notary or we would have tried to make other arrangements to try to send someone to your house to do the notarization. I understand your frustration but I do believe that we earnestly represented you throughout the transaction and again I apologize for the survey mix up but that did not have a negative impact on your legal representation. We wish you many years of happiness in your new home and with your new baby.
