Unresponsive, Won't fight hard for you, will take your case and keep you guessing at what's next!

I knew this attorney for many years (approximately 15) and I thought I could trust him. I had a personal injury case (slip and fall). I was and still am very hurt (may have to undergo back surgery). All of my exams displays real serious life long injury. All doctors have testified to this. I took ...my case to this attorney two days after it happened, on 5/20/2010. He didn't file suit against the defendant until 5/18/2012 (the last day before the statue of limitations ran out). I was with a witness that was willing to testify but this attorney waited 3 years later to even contact my witness so she moved and no one (not even the attorney's private investigator) was able to contact her. Next, I had to constantly send him letters requesting him to contact me to give me an update on my case before he would respond because he would ignore my calls for months. Next, the court date.....He called me on June 5, 2013 to tell me I had to be in court on June 6, 2013 but I told him I couldn't attend because I was being admitted into the hospital for a total hysterectomy, and a bilateral salpingo oophorectomy. He says to me...well is this an emergency need. I said, well, I don't know of anyone who has a total hysterectomy and oophorectomy (removal of the ovaries and tubes) for fun. He says okay I will tell the judge and see if we can reschedule. Next, the judge allowed the case to be rescheduled. On July 8, 2013 I got a call from the attorney telling me I had to be in court on July 9, 2013. However, I was due to start a temp to perm job as a Billing Manager on July 9. Because I was a manager, there was 3 other people starting on July 9 with me that I had to train. So, I couldn't miss my first day on the assignment (there was no way to reschedule the other 3 trainees). The only other option was to turn the job down because it was a temp to perm assignment and I didn't want to do that because I had already been out of work for 6 months and in this economy I knew I was easily replaceable....with a family to feed I could not back out of this position the day before the start date. Also, I am in the process of adopting a baby girl, she just turned 1 in April but she has been in my legal custody since she was 3 days old. I needed this new job to pay for the adoption proceedings....there was no way I could risk the money. In addition, the agency that hired me for the temp to perm assignment send me an email notifying me of how imperative my presence was for the start date. I sent it to the attorney, He said, well, I'll see what the judge says. On the afternoon of July 9, I called the attorney for an update and he didn't return my call. I called him again on July 10 and he told me the judge dismissed the case because I didn't show in court. I said well what about all of the doctor bills, he said well the providers will probably place a claim against you. He said, but I won't come after you for my fees, I will just take that as a lost. He then said, he would send me a letter in the mail notifying me of this outcome and that he would not be appealing my case. Today is July 24, 2013 I haven't received anything from him in writing yet! RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN ........DON'T HIRE THIS ATTORNEY OR YOU WILL MOST LIKELY BE IN A SIMILAR SITUATION AS ME!!!!!

NonResponsive

He is very nice at first, but he is non responsive, and has terrible secretaries. I do not like his service and had to find another lawyer.
