I am SO GLAD that I once again hired Gary Woodend to handle a real estate transaction for me. This house settlement was the most difficult I've ever experienced and presented itself as a solid challenge for my lawyer as well. Complicated beyond 99% of all home real estate transactions, this one was ...a doozy. The largest problem was the discovery of a 1000-gallon buried oil tank and the quest to acquire a "No Further Action" letter from the EPA. This challenge grew exponentially as the tank had holes and was resting in a bed of underground water. The problems that arose daily and the rising costs which would have been ours without Gary would have been enough to make any lawyer throw up their hands and walk away, but Gary stuck by us to the very end and protected his clients (as he always does) through the nightmare that ensued. Additionally, because the house was purchased in January but possession wasn't to occur until the end of June, neither the pool nor the twin air conditioning systems could be checked and were issues of concern. The needed repair of a chimney lining in the wood burning fireplace added to the stress. Without doubt, the acquisition of our dream home simply wouldn't have happened without Gary.
