Case Closed!

When I got arrested on a marijuana charge I decided I needed a lawyer. I found one of Thomas' advertisements in my mail and decided to give him a try. This was probably the best decision I had made in a long time. His quote for my case was $50-$150 cheaper than the quotes I got from 3 other firms. N...ot only was Mr. Masciocchi professional and courteous, he was also extremely personable. He worked with me to get all of the details of my case and gave me options as to what I wanted to do moving forward. Thomas seemed like he had a ton of experience dealing with the courts and appeared to have a great relationship with the prosecutor and judge on my case. Mr. M was always available when I had questions unless he was in court where I would receive a phone call right when he was out. Thomas got my case dropped to a misdemeanor with no drug records following me to future employment oppurtunities or any residual effects. Overall Thomas Masciocchi was the ideal lawyer to have. He was extremely comfortable and effective when we were in front of the judge and handled my case with extreme care and in a timely fashion. He also made me feel like he really cared about me as a person not just as a client.

DO NOT USE HIM!

I paid him alot of money to represent me and all he did was take the easy way out, just wanted to enter a plea and go to the next client, I never felt like he cared or tried to defend me properly

This is a fake post. This was posted by YODEL after I had refused to use their advertising services. If this is a legitimate post then I invite the poster to be brave and use their name - or tell me in person. It should be noted that no Court will take a forced plea. All Courts will ask the defendants on the record whether they are making their plea freely and voluntarily, whether there is any force or coercion, AND MOST OF ALL - WHETHER THE DEFENDANT IS SATISFIED WITH COUNSEL! If this is real, then this defendant committed perjury with the Court - that's a criminal offense. It is so typical of AVVO not to filter and investigate these posts. Any simpleton would know what I just stated and see that the post is bogus or a lie. But now I know why AVVO's credibility is shot. Now I know why even Judge's say that companies such as AVVO are jokes. AVVO will face litigation if this is not promptly removed.

Keep away

I hired this lawyer for the two tickets I got on New Jersey Turn Pike. Major one was speeding and other was improper pass. They charged me $325. He showed up at the court and forgot to address speeding ticket. There communication after that was really poor, once they had the money they didn't bother ...me calling or responding. When I got hold of on of his assistants he blamed court for the mistake and court administration suggested otherwise. I asked them to handle the situation since it was there fault. They said they will handle it but charged $350 on my card without my information. I tried to call them but they kept putting me off and finally even his assistant started to dodge my calls. I couldn't do anything. Finally he showed up at the court and again made me pay all the fines. I ended up paying almost $1000 and which I had paid even if I had not hired them in the first place. So just frustration and nothing in return. Keep away if you don't want to frustrate yourself.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2011.

Reprimanded issued in NJ, 2011

updated on 12/11/2014

This means the attorney did something wrong, but the Bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
