In my over 30 years of practicing law, I have learned that each client's case is very likely to be the most important thing in his or her life at the moment. I represent each of my clients with this principle at the top of my concerns.  I also believe that I must be available just to talk to my clients if they need a sounding board. I always try to be a counselor at law, not merely a lawyer.

I charge reasonable, fixed fees, so all of my clients know what their costs will be before I begin my representation. All of my fees are promised in writing and are signed by me and my clients.

I hold an "AV" peer rating from Martindale-Hubbell, which means I am viewed by other attorneys as having, "Preeminent Legal Ability and Highest Ethical Standards." and I hold a "9.8 out of 10" rating from AVVO, which means my rating as an attorney is "Superb," according to AVVO's rating system.

In my spare time I am a professional baseball and softball umpire.  I am also an Emergency Medical Technician, and I serve with the Mount Laurel, New Jersey Emergency Medical Service.

I was born in Trenton, New Jersey and attended Trenton public schools K to 12. I graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1976, first in my class. I received my bachelors degree at Rider University, magna cum laude, and my law degree at Syracuse University.

 I was an ethics prosecutor for the Supreme Court of New Jersey, Office of Attorney Ethics for 20 years. Now I defend lawyers and judges accused of ethics violations. I also  give expert opinions in ethics and legal malpractice cases. I also represent candidates for the New Jersey bar in character and fitness matters.

 I worked for eight years as a criminal prosecutor at the county and state levels. I was also a prosecutor and defense attorney during my 24 years as an active-duty and reserve member of the United States Air Force. I handled cases from simple drug possession to homicide.  I have been a judge in courts-martials.

Before joining the Middlesex County Prosecutor's office, I worked as an associate at a medium-sized law firm in Westfield, New Jersey, and represented a diverse commercial and private clientele.

 I served the United States as a member of both the US Army and Air Force Reserves, and I retired as a Lieutenant Colonel 2011 after 24 years of service.  I held a variety of increasingly responsible positions as a military lawyer, culminating as Assistant Ethics Administrator in the office of The Judge Advocate General at the Pentagon.

I am also admitted to practice before the US Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces (1986); the US Army Court of Criminal Appeals; the US Air Force of Criminal Appeals (2003); and the US District Court for the District of New Jersey (1984).
