Excellent estate and insurance advice!

Attorney J. Kenneth Harris is smart and wise. I recently consulted with him about a complicated inheritance matter where two brothers were inheriting a small estate consisting of real estate, cash and a life insurance policy (this was a different policy than the one insuring the deceased parent). He...re's where things got complicated: The life insurance policy was "owned" by the estate, but insured one of the two brothers (the less well-off, starving artist-type.) This had happened because when the policy was established years earlier, the parents knew that the 2nd brother (a wealthy, money-obsessed business-type) was already set financially. When the last living parent finally passed, the wealthy brother insisted that the beneficiary of the policy (even though it insured the artist brother) be changed to include his children (that is the children of the wealthy business man). The alternative would be a small cash payment made to the business man's kids up front in exchange for the artist brother gaining full ownership of his life-insurance policy. (If it seems like extortion, I won't disagree. It is a little grotesque.) Given his expertise with both estate and insurance law, Mr. Harris was able to quickly and expertly lay out the different scenarios that could play out. Based on his advice, I was able to see the smartest solution -- the one with the least amount of potential land mines. What I particularly appreciated was Mr. Harris' life wisdom which accompanied his legal analysis. My situation is not yet resolved, but Mr. Harris' advice definitely put me at greater ease. I highly recommend Attorney "Ken" Harris -- he's smart, experienced and easy to talk to.

Free Consultation at 3pm on a Friday

I encouraged my elderly father to consult an attorney regarding a sibling's beligerant refusal to respect his wish to remain in his own home after our mother's death. Unfortunately the lawyer involved has not been helpful, in fact has made a difficult situation worse. Mr Harris was kind enough to p...rovide me with a better understanding of Power of Attorney, as well as answering an inheritance question the paid lawyer failed to respond to. It was evident there was a kind and sympathetic person on the other end of the call. I highly recommend him.

Top Notch Lawyer

Ken has helped me setup two new companies. I needed a lawyer that could provide not only legal and tax advice, but also solid business advice. Ken's wealth of experience and knowledge in not only legal system but in tax law was very impressive. He was available when ever I needed and even attended... a meeting at 1am. Ken ensured I understood all of the LLC legalese so I could make the necessary decisions. My company is flourishing and Ken continues to provide us with terrific legal and tax advice.
