Awful

The office is a disaster. I did a tax appeal with them. Started out with sending them a $25 check, was lost by their department, but cashed by them. They hounded me for the $25 no matter how many times I sent proof the check was cashed by them. Then when it came to the appeal, I waited months, and fi...nally called and got Cindy on the line. She said my appeal was successful, said they had assessed my land lower by $20k. I didn't know how that translated into hard dollar taxes, and neither did she. She said someone would call me back to explain. I waited a week, then sent an email. No response, waited another week, sent another email. Waited another week, and called. Got Cindy again, someone will call you back, I promise. Waited a week, sent an email. Finally get an email back telling me that my appeal hadn't even been processed yet. What's worse, is when I told them that Cindy from their office told me that it had gone through and been successful, they accused me of lying and said they had no record of my call. I had to pull my own phone log to prove it to them. They said that the appeal never went before the committee, and I would have to wait until July 12. Called back July 19th to give them some time. Got Cindy again, who claims that she never gave me that info. Meanwhile, I had all the numbers written down, why would I make this up? My only mistake was that I didn't record my conversation with her. She said someone would call me back, and that she got in trouble for speaking with me the first time, yet still claimed she never gave me that info. So why would she have gotten in trouble, had she not given me that information. Long story short, none of it made any sense, they were all lying to me. I don't even know if the appeal was filed. I waited another 2 weeks to finally get a call from a different person telling me my appeal was unsuccessful. This isn't a review out of spite. Anyone can lose a tax appeal, no big deal, it's the fact that they kept lying to me over and over and the disorganization in the office was so awful to the point where I really feel that it was the root cause of my appeal not being successful, not because i didn't have a valid case. My intial conversation was that i purcahse my house for XX dollars, yet my taxes are based on a price $75k higher than what i paid, so it was a pretty bulletproof case. I would be cautious about using them to do a tax appeal. I explained the situation to the gentlemen that called me at the end and told him his office is a disaster, thought I was being helpful, and maybe I’d get a simple, I’m sorry about that, or thanks for the constructive criticism, but instead, I got nothing but silence on the other end of the phone. They know all too well that they really do not care at all.
