In my law practice I have repeatedly found myself at the cutting edge of tax and estate planning and trust administration. With the perspective of an accounting education, I have brought to my clients and, in a larger context, to the greater legal community through professional organizations, publications and presentations, new and creative ideas to solve tax challenges, enhance wealth and assist trust settlors, trustees and foundation managers successfully negotiate the legal minefield. It is with this legal background that I have helped high net worth families and family offices navigate the plethora of challenges unique to the fact that they are both high net worth and a family. Earlier in my career I found myself a pioneer in the development of LLC law and international asset protection; one of my more notable engagements as an attorney has included that of draftsman of the Limited Liability Company Ordinance for the Caribbean island of Nevis. In the more recent half of my professional life I have developed a national reputation for my work with sophisticated and novel income and estate tax solutions, including private placement life insurance and retirement plans.
