I have been an attorney for over 40 years and have experience in all family docket types, including custody disputes between unmarried parents, divorce, DCPP (child abuse), domestic violence, kinship legal guardianship, grandparent visitation and adoption. I have been appointed by the court to serve as a Guardian ad Litem in numerous custody cases, and am on the NJ Supreme Court roster of Parenting Coordinators. I also handle applications for guardianship of alleged incapcitated persons and am sensitive to the family issues surrounding those applications. I am a former Deputy Attorney General, Law Guardian in the Office of the Public Defender, Domestic Violence Hearing Officer and family mediator for the Family Division of the Essex County Superior Court. I am an experienced appellate attorney having appeared before the Appellate Division numerous times and the New Jersey Supreme Court twice. I only accept a limited number of cases to ensure that I can give the client and case the attention they deserve. I have been recognized for my dedication to the safety of children and have been awarded the "Child's Hero Award," by the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) of Essex County and the "Phil Sobel" award by the New Jersey Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, as well as the "Volunteer of the Month" by the Volunteer Lawyers for Justice. I serve on the Supreme Court District XB Ethics Committee.
