Michael T Miano

Michael T. Miano is Senior Counsel in the Commercial Litigation, Intellectual Property, Franchise Law and Professional Liability Defense practice groups in Gordon & Rees’s New Jersey office.  His broad range of litigation experience includes representing corporations and officers in fraud, consumer fraud, breach of contract, negligence and employment discrimination matters.  He also has significant professional malpractice defense experience, including the representation of attorneys, real estate brokers and appraisers. 

Mr. Miano has comprehensive litigation experience, both in the state and federal district courts in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  His practice includes litigations involving contract disputes, intellectual property rights, officer and director liability, enforcement of non-competition agreements, employment law, consumer rights, and collection recovery. 

Examples of Mr. Miano’s experience include the following:

• Representing clients in intellectual property disputes, including obtaining numerous injunctions preventing trademark infringements, copyright infringements and misappropriation of trade secrets. 
• Representing clients in matters related to the alleged breach of license agreements and area development agreements. 
• Representing franchisors in actions to enforce franchise agreements, including post-termination covenants. 
• Representing corporations, officers and directors in litigations involving claims of breach of contract, breach of warranty, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, consumer fraud, vicarious liability and successor liability. 
• Representing employers in matters involving claims of discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination.
