Alina Habba

Alina Habba is currently the Managing Partner of Habba Madaio & Associates LLP. Prior to founding the firm, she served as the Managing Partner of a mid-sized firm that serviced a Fortress subsidiary and, for seven years, successfully expanded its business throughout the entire Northeast region. Alina has experience in many areas of litigation including, but not limited to, corporate litigation and formation, commercial real estate (transactional and litigation), family law, the financial services industry and construction-related matters. Alina is licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, the United States District Court for the Districts of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Prior to going into private practice, Alina was a law clerk to the Honorable Eugene J. Codey, Jr., then Presiding Judge of the Civil Superior Court in Essex County, New Jersey.

Alina has been selected to the 2016-2022 Super Lawyers Rising Stars List and was a recipient of the New Jersey Administrative Office of the Courts Certificate in Mediation & Conciliation Skills. She has mediated numerous matters in the Civil Division. Alina has been an active member of the New Jersey Bar Association and has served previously on the Insurance Defense Committee as well as the Equity Jurisprudence Committee for the New Jersey State Bar Association. In addition, Alina is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Alina has served as lead counsel for numerous newsworthy cases, including a federal class action suit against a New Jersey nursing home accused of various negligent acts and consumer fraud violations, including storing 17 bodies in a storage room in the early stages of the COVID pandemic (Emerson, et al. vs. Andover Subacute Rehabilitation Center, USDNJ, civil action no. 2:20-cv-20066), a civil lawsuit against a municipality for permitting the systemic rape of numerous children perpetuated by a town employee over the course of several decades (John Doe vs. Salisbury, Connecticut Superior Court, LLI-CV20-6026001-S), and, most recently, Trump vs. Mary Trump, The New York Times Company, et al. filed in September 2021. She manages all firm business, human resources, and financial matters.

Last but not least, Alina prides herself on being involved in charitable organizations in her spare time including sitting on the board of Birth Haven, an organization for homeless pregnant women, and recently being nominated as the recipient of the 2020 Women’s Achievement Award by Tri-County Scholarship Fund which provides private schooling for children in desolate areas of New Jersey.
