I was mistakenly arrested but unable to prove my sobriety with the breathalyzer (which I wanted to take) because of a stomach ulcer which caused uncontrollable burping, resulting in a refusal charge on top of the DUI. Even though I was able to subsequently prove my medical condition with an endoscop...y, I was advised by several lawyer friends that in NJ you are presumed guilty, not innocent when it comes to DUIs. After a fair amount of inquiry, Mr. Abore was unanimously recommended as the best counsel available in this area to represent me on this charge. He did not over promise - in fact, he said that the odds were against an acquittal even at trial and that we might have to appeal. In the end, he was able to negotiate down to a lesser charge of failure to maintain lane, without any suspension of my license, which by all accounts of my attorney friends, was a virtual miracle. He knows the law and specializes in DUI/DWI cases perhaps more than anyone else in the Morris County area. He is a former prosecutor himself.
