I had an amicable JOD after mediation (My ex got most of what she wanted) and two years later after I got engaged, my legal nightmare began. My ex decided to file a motion, an extensive attack on our MSA, custody and parenting time along with more then a dozen different requests of the Court to re-wr...ite our prior mediated agreements even more in my ex’s favor. Unfortunately I decided to hire an attorney who didn’t specialize in family law. I now know it’s like asking a dentist to perform brain surgery. We attempted to mediate before trial which was a waste of more time and money. Longer story short, we were dismantled in Court and to add further insult to injury, the Court Ordered a plenary hearing for all of the contested financial issues. I fired my attorney before we even got out of the Court room. I called a family friend who referred me to Kristi. In what was probably the darkest point of my life, Kristi was a guiding light to which I will always be great full for. I met with Kristi and we discussed my case, she took me step by step through the process and held my hand every step of the way. In preparation for the Plenary there were many hurdles, a very mentally ill and scorned ex, a court which was more sympathetic to my ex’s crocodile tears then to the facts of the case and so on. Kristi was fierce and her belief in her ability to salvage my case never once wavered. My case was further complicated by me ex who during mediation decided to fire her first attorney, file ANOTHER motion against me as a Pro-Se, hired a second attorney who Kristi now had to bring up to speed and so on. As the costs for my case continued to rise, there was a point where I wondered how I could ever even recoup my expenses even if Kristi was moderately successful. I shared all my concerns with Kristi who assured me to stay the course. The best thing I did besides hiring Kristi was following her advice, I learned through my experience with her that she is extremely knowledgable and honest. I trusted her with my families well being and financial future and it was the best decision I ever made. With our Plenary trial date less then a week away, Kristi had been able to not only dismantle my ex wife’s claims but set forth my own claims with legal precedent and her own research of the facts, something my previous attorney was incapable of doing. Finally a few minutes before midnight before the eve of our trial, Kristi called me to tell me that my ex was agreeable to the Consent Order Kristi had drafted. Never in my wildest dreams did I believe that the outcome Kristi was able to reach was possible. Not only was she able get rid of all the financial claims my ex had attempted to get with her motion, she was able to get my Alimony and Child support reduced by $600.00 a MONTH! The Consent Order my ex agreed to with Kristi’s help has provide my family with peace of mind that continues to this day. I can guarantee you from my own experience that there is no better family law attorney and advocate that you could ask for then Kristi. She is simply the best.
