Honest and Tells it Like it is

Mr. Cerreto was a breath of fresh air. He is concerned about his clients financial as well as emotional welfare. I would highly recommend him to anyone. He is no nonsense, returns phone calls, email, and text messages promptly. He also takes time to explain the process, answer questions with simple e...xplanations and is very professional. My prior attorney just wanted to create more of an adversarial relationship between the parties and get high billing. He is a nice down-to-earth guy who cares about his clients. He is a team player! Call him and see,

An Excellent Lawyer!!!!

I needed an a lawyer to handle a post divorce matter in a very quick time frame. I asked Aniello and he was quick to answer my questions and gave me frank and responsible answers to all my questions. He handled my sitaution very very well. He , in fact, went above and beyond what was expected. He rep...resnted me with the utmost diligence and I felt very secure in what and how he was handling my case. I was very happy with the outcome, as he saved me not only financially but also saved me from possible arrest. i am very thankfull I had Aniello on my side.

The best!!

We went to Neil to discuss our debt options, and ultimately retained him to do our bankruptcy. He truly was hands on. He always answered his phone when we had a question, and promptly returned emails. He was extremely considerate and efficient. He remained extremely positive, and that was so importan...t to us. Prior to him, we went to another attorney for a consultation, and left feeling terrible. We were lectured, made to feel irresponsible, and thrown a stack of "papers" to fill out. We are so grateful to have found Aniello Cerreto, an excellent attorney and a really nice person!

Machiavelli of divorce law

I hired Anniello Ceretto in the end of December 2014 to file a motion to vacate a default divorce. During 15 months of dealing with him, he was constantly lying to me, was never committed to his promises, deceiving and manipulated not only me, but the court staff and my wife’s lawyer. In particular:... he was lying and delaying servicing of a motion to the court for almost a month. Later he let me drive under heavy snow from Farmington CT to NJ for a court appearance, he knew was already canceled. He secretly negotiated with my wife lawyer, which violated professional conduct rule. He violated communication rule when he refused to convey information, which I requested to my wife lawyer and the court. Then he was trying to persuade me that instead of proceeding with the motion, he induced me to do and pay him $2000, I should settle with small modification of settlement agreement to enforce a waiver of child support, which was not even applicable to my 19 years old daughter, who already went to college. I almost fired him in July 2015, but, unfortunately, let him come back, when got into deep clinical depression in September. He made a fun and sadistic satisfaction of my severally depressed condition. He convinced me then to settle with my ex-wife with minuscule alimony of $300. I changed my mind immediately, but was unable to stop him from perusing this settlement despite my repeated demand to halt it. It was another violation of a professional conduct rule. Even after I agreed to this embarrassing settlement, which was for him a quick way out of the case and paid him 1,750 extra for something he influenced me to do against my will, he still manipulated me and a court system for another 5 months. I finally signed the substitution of attorney request, after paying him 3,750 for “service”, which I was not only benefit from for one cent value, but was harmed and demeaned morally, mentally and financially. Stay far away from this guy, unless you want to be trapped by his empty promises, constant manipulations and want to waste your hard earned money.

I am an honest man. See my many referrals from clients and lawyers. I know who this is. He is not being honest at all. To refer to me as Machiavelli is a cruel joke if not Slander/Libel. I even walked away and forgave being owed over $7,000.00 from this person because he was so unreasonable rather than take more of his unreasonable verbal abuse and this is the thanks I get. Before I was hired this person had signed a settlement agreement waiving alimony. He came to me with medical records identifying his mental illness and he requested assistance of me to try and get out of what he had done. His prior lawyer had abandoned him and even asked him to cease and desist from contacting him any more. I filed a motion to vacate my clients default default and it was granted. I also filed a motion to vacate the settlement agreement and in Passaic county the motion became pending by the court for quite some time . I later learned my client had contacted the court on his own without telling me his lawyer. Rather than kick this client to the curb for not paying the over $7,000.00 he owed me pursuant to the terms of his retainer agreement, and respecting his situation and mental illness, I cut him some slack on the $7,000.00 in good faith by me, I then for a nominal $750.00 payment continued to try and help him. I also negotiated with the adversary and was able to get the lawyer and his client to agree to pay alimony to my client. When my client wanted more than the other side would agree too, it became my fault in this clients misguided thinking. Had the client never signed the settlement agreement on his own before hiring me, things in his case would have been different but that was beyond my control. The problem was he wanted an OJ defense but expected to pay pennies on the dollar for it. I did all I could but he decided to not cooperate, tell lies, not pay, and he did not fire me, I requested for him to him sign a substitution of attorney on 6-25-2015 or I was going to file a motion to be relieved as his lawyer due to his lies and attempted manipulations. He took 8 months and 2 weeks until 3-7-2016 to sign it only after he realized I was serious and was going to file and expose him to the court. He was trying to steal my services while not paying for all he could get. Selfishly angry that he has to pay for legal representation to continue his desired litigation with his ex-wife who left him and who I have never met or spoken to, I cannot even tell you what the woman looks like as I dealt with her lawyer on the phone, and angry the case did not go all the way he wanted, he decided to follow me and continues to fabricate the same untrue claim wherever he can about me. Its all fabricated hog wash. I don't secretly negotiate, I don't manipulate, I don't do anything dishonest. I did not intentionally have him come to court on a snow day. I have 23 years since 1992 of honesty and helping people. This man gave me his medical records proving he has significant and professionally medically documented mental illness issues beyond lawyer and client and I tried to help him. Its just unfortunate I am on his radar now. When I caught him lying to the court rather than own up to the truth, I confronted him. His reply to me was Aniello please please please forgive me you know I am not well. Please help me. Well not only did I forgive him, I went back and tried to help him some more, and now for my efforts I have to deal with his constant lies and stalking me out of his frustrations with his life and that he cant get the alimony number he wanted during my time in his case and he refused to pay to continue to go after it, and perhaps his jealously of his lawyer as an independent self made man who stood up to his lies and unreasonable rudeness. I wish him nothing but well. But do not be misled people, I am an honest man. I have referrals from clients, and established lawyers. All I do is help people. It's my life. Peace
