Thanks Judge Keefe!

Thank you Judge Keefe for mediating a dispute with a former employer of mine. This was a difficult time for me and the result was more than I expected. I highly recommend!

Extremely disappointing mediator

We recently used Judge Keefe for a mediation in a complex case in which parties came from around the country. It was an exercise in futility. Judge Keefe could not have shown less interest. He came nowhere near living up to his reputation. I would never use him again or recommend him to anyone.

I have devoted a great deal of my professional life to earn the reputation that apparently motivated the reviewer to engage me on that basis. I assume that the reviewer is an attorney since I enter into mediation retainers only with attorneys. I regret that the reviewer perceived that I was disinterested because that is certainly not the case in any matter that I mediate. I note, parenthetically, that there was no complaint that I was unprepared for the mediation. I have no idea what case is the subject matter of the post since I mediate an average of 12 cases a month. Even if I was aware of the matter involved, however, both State and Federal confidentiality rules pertaining to the mediation would prevent a discussion of the details of the mediation in an open forum such as this. Even the arbitration remedy afforded by Avvo would result in breach of the confidentiality rules of mediation, as the reviewer must know. However, as one professional to another, I am willing to discuss the matter further with the reviewer if he/she so desires, since I would be interested to understand whatever I either said or did that led this reviewer to the perception of disinterest.

Judge Keefe is the very best

Nowhere will you find the level of professionalism and excellence practiced by Judge John Keefe. He is outstanding. He put my family at ease in dealing with our mediation and exceeded our expectations with the outcome. I would recommend him to anyone seeking mediation or council.

Relationship: Other

"I endorse this lawyer's work. Judge Keefe is without a doubt the most impressive and influential member of the Bar that I have ever had the privilege of knowing and working beside. He is highly respected by everyone who knows him, and his reputation as a well informed, hardworking, and diligent mediator goes well beyond the members of the New Jersey Bar. As an Appellate Judge he wrote several of the most progressive and important ground breaking opinions in the country. As a mediator his ability to manage and help resolve complex litigation involving multiple parties is surpassed by no one. This is why both plaintiffs and defendants look to Judge Keefe to resolve the impossible case."

"Judge Keefe is one of the most intelligent people I have ever met. His understanding of the delicate balance between law, equity, and simple justice is unparalleled. He is a stalwart who makes us better lawyers and reminds us of the time when the law was not just a career, it was a calling."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
