Ana Milena Goncalves

I am a bilingual family law attorney based in Paramus, New Jersey, serving individuals and families in Bergen, Passaic and surrounding counties in both English and Spanish. My practice focuses exclusively on divorce, custody, parenting time, child and spousal support, post-judgment modifications, and domestic violence matters.

Before dedicating my practice to family law, I spent 18 years as a personal injury attorney. That background shaped how I approach every case: I know how to negotiate effectively, and when negotiation is not enough, I know how to advocate for my clients in court.

In addition to my litigation practice, I am on the New Jersey Judiciary Roster of Mediators for Economic Aspects of Family Law Cases and the Statewide Roster of Parenting Coordinators. These credentials reflect my commitment to helping families resolve disputes as efficiently and peacefully as possible, and my belief that when families can reach resolution without prolonged litigation, everyone benefits, especially children.

Before law school, I worked as a caseworker in New York City, where I saw firsthand how much stress families carry when they are caught up in legal systems they do not fully understand. That experience never left me. It is part of why I practice the way I do: giving clients honest information, clear explanations, and steady guidance at every stage.

I earned a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from Stony Brook University and my law degree from Touro Law Center. I have been licensed in New Jersey since 2006 and in New York since 2007.

I am a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and its Family Law Section, the Bergen County Bar Association, the Passaic County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the New Jersey Hispanic Bar Association, Women Lawyers in Bergen, ALPFA New Jersey, and several regional chambers of commerce serving the communities where my clients live and work.
