This past October I met with Mr. Ambrose to discuss the purchase of a cleaning services franchise for my sister and I. I briefly discussed the concept of the business and forwarded the documents a week prior to our meeting for his review.
When I arrived I was met by a very curt woman by the name of Nancy. Almost immediately I was informed Mr. Ambrose was fighting with his ex wife and just went through "an ugly divorce". and she was expecting him to be late. I asked how long she thought he'd be, she replied, "I don't know, maybe an hour". I was then asked if I brought the retainer money I discussed with Mr. Ambrose.
I explained that I was only there for a consultation and was told no payments or retainers were required. After asking me my name she said she thought I was someone else.
Mr. Ambrose arrived 15 minutes later stating he was seeing his doctor. Mr. Ambrose proceeded to tell me he thought buying a cleaning services franchise was a poor investment and If I wanted to clean toilets I didn't need the backing of a franchise. Mr. Ambrose and his assistant found his poke very funny. I did not. I apologized for taking up his time and he apologized by stating that he had no problems with cleaning professionals, in fact his lazy ex wife has had one for years.
I found Mr. Ambrose to be extremely rude, arrogant, and unprofessional to the highest degree. He hadn't reviewed my file, did not research the franchise, and mispronounced my name more than six times. Needless to say I promptly left and hired a more competent attorney.
