Rosemary N. Gushiken

Rosemary Gushiken, Esq. is the founder and Principal of The Law Office Of Rosemary Gushiken, LLC. Ms. Gushiken has experience in all facets of divorce and family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, division of assets, special immigrant juvenile status and other immigration matters related to family law. She also has experience handling Immigration, Municipal, Real Estate, and Probat and Estate Administration Matters. Her fluency in Spanish allows her to directly and effectively communicate with and represent the best interests of a wider range of clients.

Ms. Gushiken is fiercely dedicated to helping her clients and their children by helping them move past the turmoil of divorce and family matters, immigration removal proceedings, and municipal court matters, in a positive and efficient manner.  She has built a strong reputation for guiding her clients with compassion and professionalism, tailoring her approach to address and resolve each client’s individual concerns and specific legal needs.

Rosemary Gushiken is a skilled negotiator well-versed in using creative legal strategies, including pursuing low conflict resolution methods, whenever it is in her client’s best interests. When going to court is necessary, Rosemary draws from her extensive litigation experience to zealously advocate for her clients in safeguarding their rights.

After graduating from Roger Williams University School of Law with her Juris Doctorate, Ms. Gushiken started out in her law career working at a civil litigation firm where she predominantly focused on family law matters, representing clients throughout New Jersey. There she was also able to gain significant experience in other areas of law including municipal, real estate, civil, estate matters. She then went on to practice law at a firm that specialized in immigration matters and also handled family, municipal and real estate matters, where she primarily represented clients in family law cases but also represented clients in all other areas of their practice.  Ms. Gushiken then went on to practice law at a firm that specialized exclusively in family law matters, where Ms. Gushiken represented Clients in divorce, child custody, child support, emancipation, alimony, equitable distribution, and post-judgment matters. 

Ms. Gushiken’s immigration law experience is a special benefit for her clients who face immigration issues in their family law matters. Immigration status can impact alimony, custody during divorce proceedings, and guardianship and special findings cases in which Special Immigrant Juvenile Status is sought for a child.

Rosemary Gushiken has volunteered as a Mentor for the Championing Our Students Program through the YMCA in Providence, Rhode Island and interned at Passaic County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children) and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. During law school, she participated in the Immigration Clinic where she represented Adults and Children that were placed in removal proceedings before the Boston Immigration Court. Ms. Gushiken completed an Immigration Law Education and Advocacy Project externship through Catholic Social Services and has experience researching human rights issues.

Ms. Gushiken is actively involved in professional associations throughout New Jersey. She is a Barrister of the Justice Virginia Long American Inn of Court (Hudson and Union counties), where she has been elected Secretary. Ms. Gushiken is also a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Bergen County Bar Association,  and the Hudson County Bar Association.

Ms. Gushiken is admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey, the United States District Court District of New Jersey, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Gushiken graduated Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology, and a Minor in Criminology.

Rosemary Gushiken resides in Northern New Jersey where she enjoys volunteering her time in health and wellness events throughout the local communities, baking, watching soccer, cheering for the Yankees and Giants, traveling, and spending time with her family.
