Regarded as one of the "go to" criminal defense lawyers in New Jersey, Brian J. Neary devotes his entire practice to the defense of those accused of crimes and serious motor vehicle offenses. Mr. Neary graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1973 where he received high honors and was admitted as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He then went on to obtain a Juris Doctor from New York University in 1976. For more than 20 years, Mr. Neary has served as an adjunct professor at Rutgers School of Law in Newark. He also teaches criminal law and trial advocacy courses attended by judges and lawyers.
Since 1982, Mr. Neary has been certified as a criminal trial attorney by both the New Jersey Supreme Court and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Both honors recognized his experience and continued education in advocacy. For over 35 years, Brian J. Neary has tried countless criminal cases, ranging from murder, sexual offenses, fraud and other types of criminal cases in the state courts to white collar and other types of cases in the federal courts, including some of the most high-profile political corruption cases in New Jersey over the past decade.
Mr. Neary's peers recognize his reputation for excellence in selecting him as one of the State's Top 100 lawyers for the past ten years in the New Jersey Super Lawyers publication. For over 20 years, Brian J. Neary has been named in Best Lawyers in America for numerous categories in criminal defense. The law firm is cited as a "Best Law Firm" by US News & World Report.
